June 12th: Try a New Sport

Some may not consider this a sport, but after completing on CrossFit class today, I say pssshhhh to that.

It was so intense and difficult and rewarding and body crushing and body building… there are so many ways to describe this… but over all those things alone classify it as a sport to me.

So today was day one, but I signed up for a six week challenge. I am excited and scared and really just hoping I complete it.

I found the program on Facebook and am really pleased with the place that I found CrossFit Eminence.

The coach today was great, inspirational, dedicated, and very understanding of my abilities (or lack there of).

I can’t wait for the rest of the classes!

June 10th: Go to New Denver Central Market

Well, it is not really new anymore but definitely new to me.

I do not know what took me so long, because now that I have been there I just might be stopping in daily!

It is only 5 blocks from where I work and just an amazing assortment of things to eat, drink, take home, and buy as gifts.

It was kind of hard to pick where to eat and then even more difficult to pick what to eat once I picked the place.

But the very last place, SK Provisions had pork tacos and I couldn’t resist…

Clearly, they were good…

The best part: once you got your food you could go sit out on the patio outside or in the “dining room” in the main area. And if you are with friends, everyone can pick their food of choice and then all meet up to eat together.

I will most definitely be back and if you are in Denver you should try it too!

June 9th: Go to a Flea Market

Mile High Flea Market is HUGE! I wish I would have gone on a Saturday or Sunday because a lot of the booths seemed closed today… but it was still fun to walk around and browse.

They even have a farmers market but I didn’t really explore that. Leave that for another day.

But it did look like they had a good selection of fruits and veggies. TONS OF MANGOES. It must be mango season.

I bought a couple pieces of cute, and very cheap, jewelry. A hope braclet and a tree pendant.

I will definitely be going back on a weekend day and look forward to seeing a lot more stuff.

If you live in the Denver area , I highly recommend it.

June 8th: Start an Investment Account

The last couple years of my life has been all about saving money, investing money, and getting my stuff together to buy a house.

As I work harder and harder to make this happen I came across this app that rounds up transactions from my checking account and puts them into an investment account.

It is similar to what my savings account does, however, I like this app because it separates my money to a completely different place. My savings and checking are linked, so at any time I can transfer money over to my checking from my savings. This makes that harder.

June 7th: Do Not Spend Any Money Today

I should probably add this into my weekly tasks and do this at least once a week.

Working in a bar and working strange hours I too often eat out or spend money on things throughout the day that I could easily get or do at home without spending the extra money.

Today was actually harder than I thought it would be but I think at the end of the day I appreciated the extra $10-15 in my pocket. Doing it more often could really help me save some money.

June 6th: Thrift Shop

Well, the mini-vacation is over and I am back to reality. My work week starts up again tomorrow and the rest is the week will be quite a doozie, with lots of work.

When I got back today I thought a relaxing way to spend the day would be to Thrift Shop. It doesn’t take that much effort, doesn’t cost anything (unless you buy things but never expensive), and it is relaxing.

I did in fact buy a couple things. I couldn’t  resist.

A new pot for plants, since I am no obsessed with plants. It was $2.99!

I also got this random book, which will hopefully inspire me to travel to some awesome places. It was $3.99!

A simple check off of the list today, but well deserved I think, after the last few days.

On a side note, I finally finished The Red Tent, the third book checked off my list from earlier this year. I highly recommend it to any and every woman. I started Big Little Lies, which already is a complete 180, but I think I will enjoy it in a very different way.

I also started my 4th (of 8) scarves for my nieces and nephews:

Hopefully, I can finish that one quickly because if I am going to have all of them done by Christmas, that is coming up quick!
