Over he next few days I will be catching up on posting my 365 things. I have been super busy and just have not had the chance to keep up with my postings.
Hope there are still some of you out there following along! I am super excited for the coming months. Spring and Summer means outside things are much more possible and I cannot wait to get out and explore.
For April 3rd, I called credit card companies I have CCs with and asked for lower interest rates. My largest balance I transferred to a new card with 0% rate for 16 months. Just trying to get closer to freedom from debt and enough money in the bank to buy a house! Maybe soon.
So far this year I have done some great things! A few of them get me closer to completing other tasks. For example, earlier this year I updated my resume.
So toady, that makes it a little easier for me to apply for a new job that seems out of reach.
I am not necessarily looking for a new job but I do believe it is always good to keep options open. Plus, it is always good practice to apply for jobs to keep those skills alive.
So I happened to come across a job listing for a Marketing Coordinator for a brewery in Colorado. For the most part, the job description is what I do now, minus bartending 40 hours a week… so it could not hurt to try. And it is pretty much what I dream about doing. How can I not go for this?!?
And just so you all know, I did not win the lottery a few weeks ago when I bought a ticket… 😂
After cleaning my bedroom closet it only seemed natural that I complete this task next.
Because well of course when I cleaned out my closet I got rid of a lot of clothes that either no longer fit me or I just never wear.
I still have more clothes in my closet than I need or probably wear, but maybe if I go through everything again in a month or so I can continue to declutter.
So Spring is here and it only seems appropriate to start some Spring Cleaning.
I thought cleaning out the closet was going to be really difficult but after some of my purging efforts that as part of my other things for the year I had a lot less clutter than expected.
The closet is still full… because I still have way too much stuff. But it is cleaned and more organized, so there is definitely a nice sense of relief.
So this should be a daily habit now that I have a record player… but I just do not have enough good stuff. I have spent the last hour or so doing some graphic work and marketing stuff… and have just been walking to the living room to flip my Miles Davis record over, again and again.
There is something relaxing about jazz, even in the moments when things are heightened and almost edgy. There still seems to be a sense of relaxation from song to song. Anyway, here is my task for the day: Listen to Jazz and that is what I am doing… and probably will be doing for the next few hours before I hit the pillow and get some zzz’s.
I am still in my 30 days of purging items and I would say it is going rather well. I keep getting to different areas of my room, or closet, or kitchen space… and kind of just throwing everything away. It feels good to minimalize.
Bonus for today: I decided to grab two bags out of my closet, see what was in them, and throw out what I could. I only ended up throwing away one old box of unused black and white photographic paper… I am pretty sure by now it has become exposed and would not print anything anyway. But I found multiple boxes of my old darkroom prints from college. I did not go through them yet, but I will, and am excited to see what is in there. I will probably throw a bunch away. But maybe I will put others up on my Facebook or Instagram and try to sell them! I think there is some good stuff in there!
Just a little more purging for the day. And a new task to check off the list. (Which should probably be done more often than I like to admit.)
This task makes me feel a little more productive and organized. It also made me feel like I should go grocery shopping to have more items (and health foods) around.
Even though this is only the third day of purging items I think this is going to be great for my mood and daily life. It feels great to organize and get rid of things that sit in piles and cause clutter.
I found this interesting article of 10 Ways to Declutter and there are a few on there that I might try. One specific is to get rid of one item every day for a year. I am starting with a month but maybe just try and continue past that.

While I was researching for this I also found a Woman Did Not Spend Money for a Year. Of course she paid rent, bills, debts, and bought food but she cut out unnecessary items. I have on my list “do not spend money for a day” but I might add time to that. This could really help me save money for that house I am trying to buy too!
