This may not sound difficult to most people. Or maybe it sounds really hard. But making a plan and sticking to it can sometimes be had. I can attest to that with the failure of my 365 Things List in 2017. But let’s not talk about that right now, since today is day EIGHT and I am attempting to keep going strong!
So today, I researched some recipes I like, wrote down all the ingredients, thought about some other snacks I enjoy or typically eat, and made a grocery list! Then off to the store I went and wouldn’t you know… I just got what was on the list. Of course, I came across stuff every so often and thought, “well, I would like to have that”. But I stayed the course and made myself just get what was on the list.
Often with these tasks, I research the benefits and there are usually long lists or lengthy articles, like this one from the HuffPost: Grocery List, Supermarket discussing all aspects of the act. Pinterest even has a whole section of “Supermarket Lists” that you can download. So there are plenty of resources to help you long the way. All I have to say about this simple task is:
The benefits of making a grocery list and sticking to it:
Saves you time.
Saves you money.
Keeps you on track for dietary goals.
It is that simple. And simple it was. What an easy, but beneficial thing to do!
P.S. I found the featured image on Google and that was by far my favorite… all the essentials, FRUIT-BREAD-MILK-WINE-SUGAR-BUTTER!
So I did this last year and got a lot of responses, so I cut it at 10. I still have not gotten through all those books, and hope to at some point. But I might as well stack some new titles on top of those!

Hope if you can find some time to read something this year, you will give a glance over this list and give some a try. If you have already read some of these I would love opinions on them… which ones I should dive into first, which ones I might want to wait till later and any other comments you might want to share!
This one is simple. And it took me about 15 minutes, but it felt good after. I deleted quite a few people that I honestly did not even know who they were. But I also came across a lot of people that I have not talked to in a long time, who I might want to reconnect with soon.
Simple task. Simple rewards. But making sure to build on your life and do new things everyday continuously reminds me to not stay stagnate. A task a day, regardless of how small, seems to make a difference.
As for a my food intake today I might be going back to old habits, so I need to check myself. Anyway, here is Day Three of my one week food log challenge that I started on January 2nd:
Gyro Sandwich with potato salad
Small Farmhouse Salad with apple cider vingerette
Soft Pretzel Bites with beer musturd
Sooooo. I was going strong all year and fell apart pretty quickly around mid-year. I think it all happened after I bought a house, which I can’t say is a bad thing. I bought a house!!!! And that is a bigger accomplish for my year than I could have ever imagined.
Anyway, I have 190 things left on my list from this year and clearly, I am not going to finish those. So, I will be rolling those things left over, building a new list and starting over on January 1st. All in all, I think it is great to have new goals for the year and even if I don’t get through all of them, doing over 175 new things this year was quite an accomplishment. I plan to add some of the big challenges back into my list and try and get through even more this year!
On to 2018!
Holy behind in time!
I have been a busy, busy girl and am nearly TWO MONTHS behind in my 365 things for the year but there is no better time than now to catch up. Let’s see if I can do it. Starting by checking off another simple task for the year. New savings account created!
Cannot wait to revisit my list and get some stuff going… and just wait, I did check off some HUGE things and cannot wait to share those moments.
Oh boy, it has been a great weekend.
Time away from work, time with my sister and time with my nieces. Plus, super fun activities.
Today, my sister and I went zip lining in Anderson, Indiana. It was a lot of fun and we got to do the longest, fastest zip line in the Midwest!
Bonus: it just so happens that all the things just happen to be things on my list!
I suppose with the attempt to swing on swings and kind of failing miserably, I decided to give this one a try.
I have to say… clearly, I am no longer a child and need to accept it. 😂😭
It was rather uncomfortable and I felt silly, but maybe that is the point. I had a child with me and at least she thinks I’m cool and fun…
